Today’s Residential Property Price Index (RPPI) shows another sharp 2.2% rise in August, with annual inflation now at 12.2%, broadly spread across Ireland. Underlying double-digit house price growth is rising leverage in the mortgage market. However, with loan-to-income multiples still well below the 3.5x regulatory threshold, the mortgage market is likely to sustain strong house price growth through 2018.
